Guru time

Last night we had RS enrichment night. We combined with another ward. We had the Grocery Guru come and talk to us about how to cut our food cost down up to 70%. I really liked the ideas that he had. He said that if you get both newspapers you get double the coupons. You look for things on sale and use the coupons and usually save tons. We have a little group together and the guru is taking us shopping. He is going to show us how everything works and how to get the most for your buck!!! I am excited, I am just a buy whatever shopper and so this will help with the budget type things and help with saving money!!! He told us that they are now doing online newspapers, I signed up for both it was like a $1.20 for a week for one, you get online newspapers Mon - Sat and get an actually paper on Sunday. Check him out at
http://www.gurusdeals.com/, he has the steps and other cool info for shopping smart!!!

Tickle Me Cookie Monster

So we went to our friends little boy Mason's 2 year old birthday party. He was so funny, he would open a present and want the toy opened right then and not open anymore presents. He would so crowded by all the kids that he kept picking up the presents and moving somewhere where no kids were so that he could actually open his presents. Jen and Jeremy got Mason a Tickle Me Elmo, I guess he really liked it at the store. Hailee was looking at it and at first she didn't know what to do, then she started to like it. Jimmy loved it and wanted to get Hailee one. So I asked Jen where she got it and how much, those used to cost a ton, she told me that she got it from Walmart and they had others on clearence for $5. I was in shock, I wanted to go get one but I guess they didn't have too many left.
She got the Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Ernie. She then said that we could have one, she got them to give away for presents anyways. Jimmy was very excited and I was excited too, Jeremy said that they were going to give one to Hailee for her birthday anyways.
I didn't take it out of the packaging cause I wan't sure if we are going wait to give it to her.

The 5k race

We did it!!! The whole family, Jimmy, Hailee, and I. We ran or walked the Salt Lake 5k.

This was my number in the race.

Although it was an early morning and I wasn't too sure how it would go, everything went fantastic. It is kinda funny, I was telling Jimmy that we should train to run a 5k sometime this year and a few days later, my friend Angela called and asked if I would walk the SL 5k. Crazy she was reading my mind.

So we all signed up!! Angela's sisters all signed up as well, but they all ran.

Jimmy ran with them. He said that he ran it in 29 mins. Go Jimmy!! Angela, Hailee and I walked. We walked all the way from Liberty Park to the Gateway!! Go us!! It was really cool that we actually did something like that, you hear about people doing it all the time and we actually did it!! Hailee was so good the whole time, which I was surprised since she had been awake since 5:45am. I tried not to wake her, but she did. We had such a great time!! We decided that SL has the most amazing people. This one lady, who wasn't even in the race started to run by us. She stopped and talked to us for a minute and it was like we were best friends with her. Angela told her that she should keep running and the lady told us that she should, maybe she would find her a new husband. We lost her and then she popped up again. I wasn't too sure about her, she probably lost a few. Ooo, even spiderman showed up!!

Hailee after the race. She was so tired and she crashed.

Oh my crafty self

I like to put bows in Hailee's hair and was paying for not a lot, but it adds up on all these bows I got. So I thought to myself how easy they would be to make, so I started to buy ribbon and started to play with it to see what I could do. I had bought Hailee some clips and they are so cute in her hair. They are so easy to make too. So far this is what I came up with. I also thought that I now have a spool of ribbon and so I made a lot of them. The bows I have 2-3 of each and the clips, I have quite a few. I am still in the process of buying ribbon when I have the extra cash to do so. I thought that I could eventually try and sell them and see what happens.

During Christmas time, I was thinking of what to do as far as presents go. I liked the magnet boards and so I came up with these. They weren't to hard to make and they are actually really fun to do. Jimmy and I had talked about making these also to see what happens as far as selling them too. We haven't got to far with the idea, but this spring and summer with all the fairs and city days, I might see how much it is to rent a booth or something and see what happens. My friend Ang also makes these cute blankets and we have talked about starting something together too!! We also wanted to make other things that we haven't made any examples yet, but we are getting a start. I am excited to see what happens. My sister-in-law Bobbi also makes cute things and we have talked about things to.

This is the blanket that Angela made for Hailee, she absolutely loves it.

Oh how I love Monday's

Oh what a day Monday's can be. It seemed to start out ok. I went to work and right now I am scanning patients that are wanting to enroll in a research study on obestiy medicine. Well, they schedule the patients and they have to do other things on them first like vitals, labs, see the doctor and nutitionist, and other test. I do the echo very last. So usually I am waiting around for a while and then it seems like they are all ready at the same time. Oh well it's not too bad. I then have to go to the prison to scan a patient there. So my day was going ok. I had to go back to the research place and scan one more patient. They were suppose to be ready for me soon after I got back. Not the case. The person who was getting all of the other stuff was taking FOREVER. She kept forgetting to do something and I would have to ask to make sure all was done and then she forgot and I had to wait and so on. So by the time I was finished, it was already 6 pm, no biggie, part of work, I was a little frustrated though. I left and had a small headache. I went to Sams to get more formula for Hailee and then started on my way home. Now my day got worse.
I was pulled over!! First time that I have ever been pulled over and for a major stupid reason. I passed this cop who was on the side of the freeway and he pulled on shortly after me and passed me in the LEFT LANE (fast lane). The cars in front of me were slowing down cause oh no there is a cop going faster than the speed limit. So I got over in the LEFT LANE and followed the cop. Not tailgating or anything just going the speed posted. The cop pulled into the other lane and I stayed in the same lane. Next thing I know is the cop pulls back in front of me and slows down and pulls off the side of the road, so I slow down and move over, I don't know what the cop was doing. He then pulls back onto the road and comes flying down the freeway and gets right on my bumper with his lights on. He was just rididng my tail like no other, so I pull over through the lanes and stop. He gets out and doesn't just tap on the window he pounds on the window and tells me to open up, I felt like saying to him " no crap I think I know I have to open the window" plus he was on the right side of my car. I don't have power windows, so I have to reach across and roll it down. He was so rude, he told me in a loud stern voice to give him my license and registration followed by "you know that it is the law that you can not drive in the left lane for as long as you were there. It is only there for rush hour traffic" I had no idea about it and when I said sorry I wasn't aware of it, it acted like I was stupid and he was even more rude. I never knew it was a law that you couldn't drive in that lane??? I seriously hate people who can not talk civil to people no matter what authority they hold. It's not like I was being rude and like I intended to do something wrong and run from him. Anyhow, I got a warning rudely and then when I got home, to top it off I notice I lost a hubcap somewhere. I just wanted to climb in bed and try a new day!!

Wedding Day part 2

The wedding turned out really nice. It is always a little different to go to a traditional wedding and all the extra stuff that they do, but it was really pretty. You could see how much my brother actually loves his wife. I see that he treats her with respect that Jimmy does with me. I am happy for them.

After the ceremony with her parents.

They were so happy and just so full of excitement and kinda seemed releived that it was finally here and now that it is over and they are finally married after so long.

My niece who was the flower girl waiting for our families turn to have pictures taken.

Jimmy and Hailee waiting for our pictures.

It was a really nice and fun evening. There were a lot of people who came to wish them well. There was a few people who came from my parents ward, it was good to see some of them since I haven't really seen any of them since I was in the ward a long time ago. We had decorated their car, but I didn't get a pic cause my battery died. We got this one good!!!

Wedding Day part 1

Today my little brother is getting married after dating his so to be wife for 6 years. I swear, I would have never lasted that long. They started to date soon after I was married. Earlier today we had the luncheon. It was at Log Haven.
It had a really pretty waterfall across the street from it. It turned out really nice. My dad started it off and was telling stories about my brother. Then it kept going and others that were there would tell stories that they remember of them together or seperate, some even gave them advise. Tonight they will get married and we will have their reception.
Hailee at the luncheon. She loved all the attention that she got from everyone and she even liked the food that we ate.

Upside down

Jimmy was laying on the floor watching tv and Hailee heard him and was looking for him. She leaned back and went upside down and found him, she now thinks that it is fun to continue to lean back and look at everyone upside down and laugh.

Baby Day Expo

I am a little late with this one, but I was having fun trying to change my layout on my blog. Me and my friend Angela went to the expo on Sat. It was fun. They had all these different booths with different vendors and there were some pretty cool things there. They had everything from photographers to baby blankets to all sorts of baby things.
I got Hailee this leg warmers, they look so cute on.
We have the cutest kids ever!!!
They had a cute kid photo contest that we put Hailee and Andrew in. They did a little mini photo shoot, both of our kids did really good and I am so excited to get the pictures back. We get a free 9x9 picture. I am glad that Angela brought her camera, mine was home charging. Her camera takes really good pics.
This is what happens when you leave her with Ang and Franco. :) Actually, after we went to the expo we had our temple sealing for our friends which I mentioned in my previous post. Angela watched Hailee and she gave her a bath. She said that she will use the leftover lotion and spike Andrew's hair and out of habit, she spiked Hailee's.
