Hailee's 2nd birthday

We celebrated Hailee's 2nd birthday today with Jimmy's side of the family since his parents were going to be here. She was so excited that she finally got to have her party.
She has been talking about parties for the last month. She tells everyone that she is going to have a party with fireworks. Not sure where she got the fireworks from, but she is determined that her party will have fireworks.

Hailee was so excited when I came home from work and she saw that I had a balloon with me. She loves balloons. Then when I was putting her cake together and she saw her Barbie she freaked out and told me "hold it for minute" I let her hold it while I was finishing the cake and it was a struggle to get it back from her. She loves Barbies. I had to explain to her that it was going on her cake and after we had her party and ate the cake she could have her Barbie.

Hailee's cake.

The finished product, the Barbie was hard to keep standing and it did fall over on the cake and had icing all over it.

We started to sing to her and she really didn't know what to do, she sat there and wouldn't look at anyone.

It took a little bit to get her to blow the candles out, but then she figured out what she was suppose to do and I missed the pic and had to re-light the candles and have her blow them out again.

Hailee knew what to do this time with her presents. She was really excited to open them and see what was in the present. She was thrilled that she got money from her grandparents.

We gave her the Leap Frog alphabet fridge magnets, I didn't know that she knew the alphabet song so well till she was singing it with the toy. Smart girl!!

Cousin Chris and Uncle Tim, Hailee opening the present from them and Aunt Laura and cousins Emily and Hunter. She also recieved a My Little Pony dress up pony with a Pony DVD from Aunt Sarah and cousin Isaiah. Thanks to everyone that gave Hailee presents. It was a great time!!

Bullet Bikes and Tutus

Hailee's uncle has tried to take her for a ride on the bike a few times, but she wouldn't get close to the bike. She was not going to get on it, so one day Jimmy hurried and handed her off to my brother in law and off they went. When they came around the corner, she was holding on to him so tight and wanted off immediately. Hailee kept talking about the bike and after a few days she wanted to go again, so off she went. On Sunday, my family came over for dinner and Hailee told her cousins "ride motorcycle" and had to show them.

Hailee went again and so did Alli, but Abby did not want to ride and freaked out just like Hailee once did. She kept saying "it fun". With her dad watching sports cars with her, having her say her favorite car is a Corvette, and her riding on motorcycles, I hope that she will still like girl things too and not just fast cars and motorcycles.

On Sat I was at my mom's, she had a lot of shear ribbon that was going to be used to make tutu skirts for a fam reunion a year ago. The girls were bored, so we pulled out the stuff and made cute tutu skirts for the 4 of them. Hailee loves to have it on with nothing else but a diaper and then dances around the house. They were easy to make and look way cute!!
So, I guess it won't be all about fast cars and motorcycles. She is still a girly girl at heart with a love of cars like her dad!!

Family Reunion Camping

This last weekend we went to my family reunion. It was just me and Hailee since Jimmy had prior plans that weekend. We drove up with my brother and his daughter and my other niece. My parents came as well as my sister and another brother. We all went without our spouses for various reasons. As we were driving there, it had become dark and as we were heading up the canyon we had to dodge a lot of deer and other critters of the forest, including a baby brown bear!! Yes a bear. My brother started to slow down and we were trying to figure out what was in front of us, as we got closer we saw the bear running across the road. It was cold camping. I am not a good camper when it is cold pretty much the whole time we were there. Hailee had fun with the other cousins, and played the games and did the activites that were planned, at each place they got to choose something to put in their bags. They had a sand pit with money in it, bracelets, bubbles, and go-gurts were just a few items they got. Hailee loved the bubbles and HAD to blow them herself. As she was walking she kept spilling them, but I was alright with that. It was a lot better than I was expecting with Hailee. I wasn't too sure how she would do putting to bed since she falls asleep on her own in a crib. No crib camping. She was really tired and fell asleep with my mom holding her, so it was nice not to have to fight her. It was a good way to spend the weekend, catching up with family and camping!!

Day at the Beach

I never knew they had a beach at Daybreak, only that they had a lake. I didn't think to much of the lake either. My perspective of this lake has changed. The beach areas are so nice, they have sand and docks the kids like to jump off of. There is grass areas as well. It was nice that it was close and didn't have to drive forever. We took a picnic and played in the water. Hailee had a blast with her cousins and even jumped off the dock into the water about a million times. I really wasn't planning on getting in the water much above my knees, but when Hailee would only jump off the dock to me, I had to get in a little farther. The water wasn't really cold either, needless to say I was very impressed and can't wait to take Hailee back to the beach!!
First getting into the water. She was so excited to swim.

Gateway

Last night we went to the Gateway for dinner and then took Hailee to the fountains. I wasn't sure if she would like to have the water splashing all over her, but when she saw them shoot up and saw the other kids playing, she went for it. She thought it was so funny that they shot up and water landed on her head. She had such a good time playing in the water. She did really good when I told her it was time to go, she said bye to the water and see you later. We will have to go back!!
