The Garden/Hailee's updates

Our garden has exploded!!! It is so nice to be able to go outside and get fresh veggies to eat, although not all of it is ready to be picked and eaten. The zucchini is growing like crazy. I wasn't to sure how the garden would turn out since this is the first time we have planted one. I try hard to keep things alive, but sometimes I kill things, mainly flowers. Now I have to have my mom help me with canning the tomatoes and making sauce. Hailee loves to look at all the veggies growing and helping me weed, I know that won't last long!!! I think I am most excited for the corn!!
Hailee walking through the corn, don't mind her messy shirt, she just had some icecream.

Hailee has started to watch some of the Disney movies. She hasn't ever been into watching T.V. much. She usually watches Baby Einstein. I wanted to see what she would do with watching something else, now she loves 101 Dalmations and Fox and the Hound. She was watching Dalmations and had her dog sitting with her, I checked on her and she had fallen asleep with her dog.
She always wants to do everything herself from dressing herself to getting her food and her new thing is to comb mommy' s hair and make it pretty. She is growing too fast and sometimes acts older than an almost 2 year old. She counts to ten with some help with the higher numbers. She counts to 6 and then skips to 9 and 10, but for being 2 she does pretty good. Alot of times at night you can hear her singing Twinkle Little Star, so cute!!

I finally bought Hailee a swimming pool so that she doesn't have to swim in the dogs water dish anymore. We went shopping and I showed her the pools, she picked out the pool that she wanted. Bright orange is what she wanted.
She loves it. I wanted one with a slide, but she seems to find ways to stay entertained with or without a slide. She loves to jump up and land in the water on her bum to make big splashes. She take what ever toys she can out to the pool as well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I love that Hailee's hair is getting longer so that I can do more things with her hair.
Although when I do her hair cute and up with bows, she always wants to pull it out within a few minutes.
She has so much hair and curls that if I don't pull it up it is in her face and flying everywhere. So we continue the attempt to pull her hair up and hope that one day she will leave it alone.

George Strait

George Strait is one of Jimmy's favorite singers and he has been to a few of his concerts. We went to one in Boise a few years ago. When he found out that he was coming to Usana he said that it would be fun to go, but didn't think that we would go, so I bought Jimmy George Strait tickets for Father's Day and surprised him. Last night was the concert. It was way fun to spend some time together without chasing Hailee. I bought the grass seating, and unfortunatley the stage was a little ways away, but we had a great time. I didn't bring my camera so the phone was all I had and I could zoom way close, but here are a couple of pics...

Julianna Hough was the first singer... she did pretty good.
Next was Blake Shelton.. he was way funny as he sang. He said that he wanted to sing a song that everyone could sing along with and so he starts to play his guitar and sings the song from the commerical "Free credit report.com" It was great!!
Then was the good ol' George Strait. He even sang some songs that I know, only because of Jimmy. I like some country music, but was never really into George Strait. His concerts, the ones that I have been to, are really good.

Butterfield Canyon

Today we went for a drive up Butterfield Canyon. We have been wanting to go to the mountains and haven't been able to go, we decided that we should go today and chose this canyon since it was a little closer than the Cottonwoods and Ruger can't go up the other canyons. We usually like to try and be in the mountains as much as possible in the summer. Hailee loved playing in the water and Ruger loved running around. After Hailee was good and dirty, we headed home.
Our attempt at a family picture with the timer on the camera.

You want to play "Shadow"

I am sure that most have heard of the game shadow, if not it is where everyone copies what you say or do. The last couple of days I have had my own shadow. Hailee will repeat most everything you say or copy what you are doing. For instance, Jimmy was telling Ruger to lay, sit, to settle, or other commands that he uses for her, Hailee copied every command after Jimmy would say it. Another was we were at Lowe's, I was looking at some tile and kinda kicked the box at the bottom to point to Jimmy the one I was looking at and stated to Jimmy "Look, I like this one", so Hailee proceeds to kick the same box and say "Look, like this one". There have been many more instances of this so called "shadow", we usually will just laugh cause it is so funny that she loves to copy everything, especially if she can get people to laugh at her. She loves to be silly and have people laugh. She also started this thing where if she wants something you have she will say "my turn" and take it away, it doesn't work the other way around though.

Our 4th of July

Our 4th started on the 3rd. We went to my uncles house and had a BBQ and then watched the fireworks at the golf course.
Hailee wanted to get a toy that lit up, she picked the sword.
The fireworks were really cool,
Hailee didn't like the ones that were loud. On the 4th we went to see Jimmy's brother receive an award from his neighborhood for the service that he did in the Navy. They retired an old flag and then flew a new flag. (didn't get pics of this) We then headed over to Copperton Park for the celebration there.
We watched the races, rode on the old fire truck,
and hung out with family.
Later that day we went to some friends house for a BBQ. Hailee played with Tristan and Kylie. The boys played a few rounds ping pong and then we watched fireworks. It was a very busy weekend, but it was fun spending time with everyone!!

New Pool

Hailee ran outside while I was getting her jammies and she decided that tonight the dog dish would be her new swimming pool. She told me "I swimmin". Hmmm, I wonder what will be next for the dog water dish!! Who knew that a dog water dish could be so fun for a almost 2 year old!!
